My name is Destiny Taylor, I’m an aspiring radio personality and current graduate student at Full Sail University,

 

Residing in Orlando, FL, my audience can expect coverage of local events, reviews on new music releases, and news related to everything in the entertainment industry. I’m currently working on my master’s degree in New Media Journalism.

 

I received my bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University with a major in Broadcast Journalism. During my undergrad I interned at a Cumulus Media radio station for one year, had a weekly broadcast with Sirius XM Radio, and served as the Entertainment News Reporter for our campus news station, News20 at Five. I also wrote and published articles for The Famuan and The Tallahassee Democrat.

 

I was in middle school when I realized my love for entertainment news. I’d walk home from school and get home in just enough time to catch shows like 106 & Park and E! News. After those shows went off, I’d find myself on the computer reading stories on my favorite website at the time, MediaTakeOut.com.

 

Simply put, I love work that involves engaging with people in a fun yet informative way. My life’s calling is to be in this field. Whether that’s on-air through camera or microphone or writing for an entertainment news outlet.

 

Radio personalities, reporters, writers and news anchors all share a common goal, to deliver news. When something newsworthy goes on in the world most people turn to the internet, television, newspaper or radio to learn more. Being the source of information for everyone in our community is a pretty big role. We are all considered journalists, and with that title we must be the voice that connects the media to society. 

 

Personally, I chose to lean towards the route of reporting on entertainment news because I have a strong interest in that subject. I know it’s something I’m passionate about so I’m willing to put in the work to get there. Stay tuned for what’s in store!
